Cable and Data Installations Framework, University of Leeds

Project Description

SCD is engaged by the University on a three-year term contract to provide cable and data installations.

Leeds is among the top ten universities for research in the UK and is internationally acknowledged as a centre of excellence in a wide range of academic and professional disciplines.

The University’s vision is to join the top 50 universities in the world by 2015 through its distinctive ability to integrate world-class research, scholarship and education. This drive for excellence is underpinned by a first-class IT network infrastructure. The University has invested in best-of-breed equipment augmented by a future-proof cabling infrastructure from SCD.

SCD Group has worked closely with the University over a number of years developing and implementing the network infrastructure.

In addition to the management of the day-to-day IT network needs SCD has been involved with the Universities Dark Fibre initiative linking key Campus locations and Halls of Residence with singlemode (OS2) optical fibre.

SCD’s total capability in providing civil engineering to interconnect nodes and install and commission cabling infrastructures (optical, voice and data) has resulted in numerous commendations.
