Ducting and HV Cable Installation, Driffield

Project Description

SCD was contracted to provide essential ducting and HV cable installation works for the new wind turbine farm near Driffield, North Yorkshire.

The project was deemed highly sensitive to residents who were opposed to the scheme.

SCD liaised closely with the residents and Parish Councils to alleviate concerns through attendance at Parish Council meetings and letter drops. These were supplemented by regular update meetings and emails.

SCD completed the works a full 2 weeks ahead of schedule and gained the thanks and praise of locals for the cooperative and empathetic approach taken.

The three-month project was undertaken on nights to ensure disruption to the busy interchange was kept to a minimum., and the detailed planning and close liaison with all parties resulted in the scheme being delivered ahead of the programme.

I know we are only a small Parish and when considering a contract such as this we are not too significant. To the residents it is extremely important, and to have benefitted from the caring and courteous approach of SCD, working in partnership with East Riding of Yorkshire Council Highways and the Parish Council has been a pleasure.
